Many newcomers preparing to settle in Canada may not be familiar with the pre-arrival services that are available to help them plan their settlement journey before they arrive. This webinar aims to strengthen settlement service providers’ understanding of pre-arrival services, thus increasing client awareness, promoting early access, and supporting a smoother transition into in-Canada settlement services upon their arrival.

This session provides an overview of how pre-arrival services operate, including how clients access these supports and the types of information and supports they receive. Through case scenarios, participants will gain insight into the pre-arrival process through the client perspective and learn how these services can support newcomers prior to arrival.

These insights will also help service providers identify what information clients may have already received, reducing duplication and supporting a smoother, more coordinated approach in Canada. Additionally, by enhancing the sector’s understanding of pre-arrival supports, service providers will be better equipped to encourage clients to share this information with their families and peers abroad, helping to expand awareness, reach, and early access to settlement services.
