Webinar: Navigating Difficult Conversations: Centring Empathy in Written and Verbal Communication

Webinar: Navigating Difficult Conversations: Centring Empathy in Written and Verbal Communication

July 3, 2026

As eligibility requirements for services continue to shift, many service providers are finding themselves at the frontlines of increasingly complex and emotional conversations. These changes are impacting clients in real ways – often bringing heightened anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty. On June 22, 2026, AMSSA held a live webinar to help service providers learn about tools and best-practices to best navigate these difficult conversations with their clients.

Led by Fatima Al-Samak (Organizational Consultant at Vantage Point), this webinar recording supports settlement workers in navigating these challenging moments with confidence and compassion by offering:

  • Thoughtful approaches to engaging in difficult conversations with respect and empathy
  • Practical strategies for responding to heightened emotions while maintaining constructive dialogue
  • Tools and real-life examples to help settlement workers manage tension and communicate changes clearly and effectively
