Given three large rapid resettlement initiatives within seven years and the possibility of others in the future, if Canada continues to be a leader in providing a safe haven for displaced people and refugees, it is important that preparations are made for future humanitarian responses.
The Provincial Response Road Map reflects multi-faceted research, including a review of literature examining previous crisis responses, consultation with service providers and stakeholders, interviews with key informants, and surveys of individuals both within and outside the settlement sector who were part of one or more humanitarian responses, to provide recommendations in preparation for and responding to future humanitarian responses in BC.
