Lunch & Learn Training & Development Series

February 13 @ 11:00 am - February 21 @ 12:00 pm

Join us for our Lunch and Learn Series focusing on burnout to balance and practical problem-solving skills. As part of our overall HR support project for the sector, AMSSA is organizing several online learning events, including this Lunch and Learn series.

Pump the Brakes: Getting Off the Burnout Highway
February 13, 2023 / 11:00 am – 12:00 pm PST

The settlement sector moves at a fast pace! The unintended consequence is the pressure it can put on employees to overwork and push themselves into unhealthy patterns. During this session, we’ll analyze the dangers of this “hustle culture” and identify the risks involved in ignoring the busy signals we send out in our workplaces. Learn how to intentionally slow down work processes to allow for more reflection and review on how you are doing, in a deliberate effort to prevent exhaustion and burnout. Participants will leave this hour with tools, tips, and strategies to balance organizational efficiency with their own wellbeing.

Beyond the Box: Applying Creative Thinking to Practical Problem-solving
February 21, 2023 / 11:00 am – 12:00 pm PST

Do you ever get stuck on a problem with no clue what to do next? This session will provide you with some unconventional options for getting unstuck. Participants will be encouraged to think outside the box when approaching a problem or looking for solutions. The hour will include tips, tactics, and activities to unleash participants’ creativity and approach problems from a different perspective.

Note: Both sessions will be held in English only. There will be no recording of these sessions.
