For Internationally Educated Professors, College Instructors, Early Childhood Educators & Social and Community Service Workers:  

  • The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants – Education & Social Services program is for newcomers residing in BC with pre-landing training and skills as a Community and Social Service Worker, University, College and Vocational Instructor, Early Childhood Educator and  ECE Assistant. Please join this session to learn how our program can assist newcomers with the mentioned backgrounds launch their career!

INFORMATION SESSION

Please join us, if you are a foreign-trained professional from the following occupations:

  • Social and Community Service Worker (NOC 4212)
  • University, College and Vocational Instructor (NOC 4011 & 4021)
  • Early Childhood Educator or ECE Teaching Assistant (NOC 4214)The Douglas College Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants-Education & Social Services information session will explain how our program assists newcomers residing in BC pursue their pre-landing occupation. In this session, we will discuss how our knowledgeable Career Coaches provide clients with valuable tools and resources to understand and successfully navigate the labour market to help launch their careers. Furthermore, we will provide an overview of all the specialized services available to our clients and share a client success story. This session is open to service providers, immigrant serving organizations and foreign trained Social and Community Service Workers, University, College and Vocational Instructors, Early Childhood Educators and ECE Teaching Assistants.

    PROGRAM SERVICES

    The Career Paths services include:

  • Personalized career coaching and action planning
  • Reimbursements for some of the costs related skills upgrading
  • Job search support and labour market information
  • Career Management Training workshops to provide you with successful job search tips, techniques and strategiesPROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

    The Career Paths program eligibility criteria include:

  • Permanent resident of Canada for less than 5 years, and not be a Canadian citizen
  • High intermediate to advanced level of English
  • At least 1 year of experience in your field (up to age 31) or 3 years of experience (31 years+)
