In July 2023 and February 2024, AMSSA hosted a 2-part webinar series on motivational interviewing skills for frontline settlement staff. The “Motivational Interviewing Skills for Frontline Settlement Staff” Webinar offered frontline settlement workers with an introduction to Motivational Interviewing (MI) and strategies that can support them in their journey to improve listening skills and recognize instances where individuals are advocating for change.

The “Motivational Interviewing Part 2: Supporting Engagement and Guiding Change for Frontline Settlement Staff” was hosted to continue the training and expand on skills and strategies used in each task of an MI conversation.
