LINC Program Workshop: Teaching English in the Settlement Sector

Instructing adult newcomers in settlement language is a unique teaching context that may be unfamiliar to many who are entering the TESL sector. This workshop is designed to prepare prospective and newly hired Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) instructors to explore career preparation and best practices commonly used in LINC classrooms. Participants will also explore what LINC entails, including the diversity in classrooms, who might be best suited for a career in the sector, plus common resources and supports available to instructors.
