Climate change poses significant challenges globally, with profound implications for migration patterns and the well-being of communities worldwide. The World Bank estimates that by 2050, over 140 million people within their home countries in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America will be displaced due to the effects of climate change. Even regions traditionally considered less vulnerable, such as Canada, are experiencing increasingly severe climate- related emergencies, including flooding and wildfires.
In response to these challenges, and with consultations from content experts, AMSSA has developed an e-learning course titled “Understanding Climate Change and Migration.”
This course aims to provide education on three key aspects:
- Understanding Climate Change
- Climate Change and Migration
- Supporting Newcomers and Preventing Climate Change
This e-learning course is free. Upon successful completion of series of chapters and quizzes, participants will be able to obtain a certificate of completion.
