AMSSA Lecture 4, Not for Profit Governance: The Journey to Meaningful Diversity and Inclusion will explore why diversity and inclusion on not-for-profit Boards of Directors matter and explain the role diversity and inclusion on Boards play in building organizational success and resilience.
By exploring concepts such as unconscious bias, privilege, and colonial structures, participants will learn about how to build and nurture a Board that truly represents the communities and identities that make up Canadian society.
The AMSSA Lecture Not for Profit Governance: The Journey to Meaningful Diversity and Inclusion is targeted to senior management and their Board of Directors providing IRCC-funded service provider organizations with information on:
Diversification of the Board of Directors;
Role of leadership in creating an effective organizational culture; and
Ways to support the full participation of Board members.
Recruitment, orientation, and individual Board roles contribute to organizations that thrive on concepts like shared leadership, generative and strategic thinking, and managing conflict that feeds successful outcomes for the whole organization.
