AMSSA Booklet: Disrupting Current Colonial Practices and Structures in the Immigration and Non-Profit Sector

AMSSA Booklet: Disrupting Current Colonial Practices and Structures in the Immigration and Non-Profit Sector

May 31, 2021

On September 24, 2020, the booklet, Disrupting Current Colonial Practices and Structures in the Immigration and Non-Profit Sector was launched through an event that engaged with an open mind and an open heart.

This booklet aims to become a living, practical tool to activate settler reflexivity as a currently missing step in the centering of Indigenous presence and Indigenous knowledge when confronting current colonialism.

Many of the participants of the booklet launch wanted to know a good way to share this booklet with your colleagues, people in your networks, and other stakeholders. We are pleased to provide you with a good way to share this booklet with your contacts and disseminate this important concept of ethical action and solidarity with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and nations, far and wide.

  1. You will find the final copy of the booklet to read, engage and share with your contacts in both digital and print form.
  2. Please note that any written references to the booklet should be done through proper citations (APA style).
  3. If you wish to use any of the images in the booklet, please contact AMSSA and we will help you get in touch with the artist to purchase the images.

Please do not hesitate to contact amssa@amssa.org if you have any questions regarding the sharing of this booklet.

We hope you will continue this critical work of centering Indigenous presence as a way to engage in respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples and organizations.
