Building Capacity to Support Migrant Workers in BC
AMSSA launched the project “Building Capacity to Support Migrant Workers in BC” on March 4, 2019. This project is funded by the Government of Canada’s Migrant Worker Support Network BC Pilot led by Employment and Social Development Canada.
The objective of the project is to enhance the knowledge and capacity of settlement and migrant worker support organizations, unions, professional associations, volunteers, employers and all individuals supporting migrant workers in BC by providing them with tools, resources and training opportunities.
The Migrant Worker Hub, a component of the project, shares content that contributes to improving the working and living conditions of migrant workers and facilitates knowledge exchange with organizations, employers and staff.

Increasing Capacity of Organizations Supporting Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in BC
In March of 2020, AMSSA launched the project titled “Increasing Capacity of Organizations Supporting Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in BC,” funded by WorkSafeBC.
This project aims to increase the capacity of organizations providing support to Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) across BC through service mapping of all the available services in BC to TFWs, needs assessment of organizations providing support, and development of resources based on the WorkSafeBC specific training needs identified.
One such resource developed as part of this project is The BC Migrant Worker Supports Service Map that can be found at by clicking here.
Other resources that will be made available through this project include info-sheets, an e-learning module and training workshops addressing various WorkSafeBC training needs.
