AMSSA and its member agencies and stakeholders organize public community events, workshops for newcomers to Canada as well as professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences for (re)settlement, language training diversity and inclusion sector employees.

BGC Employment Now Program
January 17 - February 4
This highly successful program helps youth from across Metro Vancouver find and maintain employment in Customer Service, Retail Sales, Hospitality or entry level Office Admin, Reception, Clerical jobs. They may also find work in businesses that have a Sales, Administrative or Customer Service aspect to their operations.
Participants develop the confidence, skills and experience needed to kick-start their careers, and they are also eligible for up to $600 in bonus incentives for successful completion of the program and achieving employment outcomes!
We offer this 2-week program every month and are eager to accept receive youth you send our way.
Program Eligibility:
- Must be between the ages of 17 to 29 (or turning 17 in 2022/2023)
- Be either a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Confirmed Refugee
- Reside in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (Metro Vancouver)
- Be unemployed or precariously employed
- Are ready and eager to look for work either now or upon completing the workshops
- Have access to an Internet connection
- Recommended to have English LINC 5/6 or Grade 9/10 and up or Foundations & Composition Level 9/10
- If they are a student, then they must be taking 3 courses or less to qualify
