Join IEC-BC’s webinar: BC JobConnect – Giving Newcomers a Career Head Start

BC JobConnect is a customized, free online talent tool created to connect job-ready newcomers in BC to employers. It provides a platform for newcomer job seekers to showcase their skills, education and work experience to find employment, while assisting employers to address their workforce needs. While many employers are experiencing labour shortages and recognize the skills that Canadian newcomers can bring to their company, they often don’t know how to connect with these newcomers. Employers registered on BC JobConnect have access to a growing database of job-ready newcomer candidates, who have uploaded their profiles into the database.

Speaker Biography:

FIONAN GRIFFIN is the Project Coordinator for BC JobConnect, having been instrumental in the tool’s growth and expansion from BC Refugees JobConnect. He has a background coordinating within the construction, banking and hospitality sectors. His expertise and skills lend to the managing of day-to-day business functions, increasing the companies’ online presence and administrating projects. Fionan has a passion for the non-profit sector and has a joint bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration from the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Ireland, and Arnhem School of Business, Netherlands.
