Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Indigenous children who never returned from residential school and those who endured.
In addition to wearing orange, it is important to take the time to learn about current and ongoing colonial practices and structures so that they can be dismantled and reformed to a system that includes all and oppresses none.
As an organization, AMSSA is committed to creating a safe space for Indigenous voices. Our booklet “Disrupting Current Colonial Practices and Structures in the Immigration and Non-Profit Sector” offers knowledge and tips on shifting colonial frameworks and standing in solidarity with indigenous peoples: https://bit.ly/2W25scN
