AMSSA announces New CEO

AMSSA announces New CEO

Dear AMSSA Members, Partners, and Colleagues,

After a thorough and thoughtful search, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha has been selected as the next Chief Executive Officer of AMSSA. Daljit will officially begin as AMSSA’s CEO on October 8, 2025, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff and Katie Crocker, AMSSA’s outgoing CEO, to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.

“On behalf of the Board, I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha as AMSSA’s new CEO. Daljit brings vision, experience, and a strong commitment to community. We are confident that with her leadership, AMSSA will continue to grow, strengthen its impact, and support the incredible work of our members across the province,” Board President Garrison Duke shared.

Daljit brings 30 years of experience across the non-profit and government sectors, with a career dedicated to advancing equity, inclusion, and community development. Daljit offers expertise in child development education, capacity building, organizational and business growth. Through centring relational approaches, she brings the ability to bridge policy, practice, and community impact to AMSSA’s work with BC’s settlement and integration sector.

Daljit continues to provide leadership and collaboration across various community planning and provincial advisory tables. She is currently a member of BC’s inaugural Anti-Racism Data Committee, Surrey Local Immigration Partnership, and Chair of BC’s Child Care Provincial Council.

“I am deeply honoured to join AMSSA as CEO,” Daljit expressed. “The settlement and integration sector plays such a vital role in building inclusive, healthy, and thriving communities across BC and Canada. I look forward to working collaboratively with AMSSA members, partners, and funders to advance equity, support frontline agencies, and ensure newcomers feel a true sense of belonging. This work must be grounded in truth and decolonial practices, and I am committed to learning and continuing AMSSA’s journey toward decolonization.”

On behalf of the staff team and Board of Directors, we are excited to welcome Daljit to AMSSA.
