The B.C. Settlement and Integration sector is committed to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in welcoming all newcomers and disrupting practices and systems that promote social and racial injustice. We believe that all those fleeing a crisis, whether it be as an outcome of war, climate emergency or a threat to one’s safety, should be welcomed to Canada regardless of their country of origin, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or other protected characteristics. We also believe that all newcomers, including temporary residents and refugee claimants should have equitable access to Municipal, Provincial and Federal government supports and services.
