Youth Action Gathering

The Youth Action Gathering brings together young refugees and immigrants to share, learn and network on common challenges and on strategies to address them. It is also a weekend of fun!

DEADLINE TO APPLY: 10 September 2015

The Canadian Council for Refugees, the Vancouver Foundation and MOSAIC invite newcomer youth from across Canada to the 2015 Youth Action Gathering (YAG).

  • Do you want to make a difference in the lives of immigrants and refugees?
  • Do you think newcomer youth should have a say in decisions that affect them?
  • Do you want to explore how newcomer youth can lead programs by and for youth?
  • Are you interested in strengthening relations with Indigenous Peoples?

The YAG is a great opportunity to connect with other youth and act together on these issues.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?

  • Racialized migrant youth from across Canada, aged 16 to 25 years.
  • Youth settlement workers and allies.

WHEN & WHERE:

YAG event: All day Saturday October 3rd & Sunday 4th, 2015

Location: UBC Robson Square, 800 Robson St, Vancouver, B.C

The event will kick off with an optional evening reception and youth awards gala dinner for participants and community allies on Friday October 2nd at 6:30pm, at the Terminal City Club (837 W Hastings St).
