WorkSafeBC Mental Health Claims: Introduction And Process Workshop

January 30, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Mental Health is a critical issue that affects workers across many fields, in many different ways. Temporary foreign workers, in particular, are more marginalized due to their temporary immigration status. In addition, they may be unfamiliar with WorkSafeBC policies, how it functions and what their rights are.

This workshop will cover what a mental claim might include, the information that they need to provide when making this type of claim and what the process would look like. The effects of mental health struggles may not be very visible which could lead to a worker not feeling confident in making a mental health claim.

Presented by WorkSafeBC, this workshop will include a question-and-answer period.

In preparation for this workshop, we invite you to complete the Introduction to WorkSafeBC for Migrant Worker Support Staff e-learning course in order to ensure a deeper discussion of the topic.
