Anti-racism efforts are essential to ensure that these newcomers are welcomed and included, irrespective of their ethnic, racial, or cultural backgrounds. Recognizing and addressing incidents related to racism and discrimination has profound implications for the well-being of newcomers.

Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha

Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha is a well-seasoned advocate and multi-industry business leader with 25+ years of experience providing leadership in the non-profit and local government sectors. Her expertise spans across different age groups, including settlement, mental health, and healthy child development. Daljit is well-known for centering collaboration with diverse stakeholders to leverage policies and design game-changing programs and strategies to help build  healthier communities locally and provincially. As a diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging expert, she provides leadership coaching, organizational development, and business consulting services. Working at the nexus of collaboration, equity, and democratic participation, Daljit’s doctoral thesis educates on the power dynamics in multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Daljit cares deeply about promoting diverse, inclusive, and healthy communities where all children and families are supported to be healthy, active, and resilient. She is a member of BC’s inaugural Anti-Racism Data Committee, once again working to support policy and legislation to create equitable and inclusive communities for all British Columbians. Aside from her professional pursuits, Daljit finds joy in nature, arts, and spending time with her family and pet dog.
