AMSSA and its member agencies and stakeholders organize public community events, workshops for newcomers to Canada as well as professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences for (re)settlement, language training diversity and inclusion sector employees. Retail Connections Program for Immigrant Youth
North Shore Multicultural Society presents Retail Connections an Immigrant Youth Retail Employment Program.
This program offers:
- 4 weeks of daily group-training sessions including:
- Vocational assessment
- Job search skills and education coaching
- Employment connections
- Retail specific trainings
- Industry recognized short term training certificates:
- WorldHost Customer Service
- Food Safe Level 1
- First Aid Level 1
- 8 weeks of one-to-one coaching and job-search support.
Eligibility for the program:
- For immigrant youth and young adults ages 30 and younger
- Must be Permanent Resident, Canadian Citizen or a Protected Person
- Intermediate English language skills required
- Unemployed, non EI eligible
- Actively seeking employment
When: Starting September 6, 2016
