EVENT DETAILS
Between 2022 and 2024, Canada aims to welcome 1.3 million permanent residents (PR). It is expected that current temporary residents will significantly contribute to these PR targets.
Therefore, in recent years, to better enable the transition of temporary residents to PR, existing immigration policies, processes and regulations have been updated and several new pathways to PR have been created.
BCSIS settlement workers play an important role in the provision of immigration application information and referrals. Therefore, it is crucial they are aware of current immigration policies and regulations, as well as the scope of their role in supporting temporary residents in immigration pathways.
In this Virtual Information Session, presenters will provide an overview of current immigration pathways and policies. They will share up-to-date information on the BC PNP Skills Immigration and Express Entry programs, including details on the new TEER system of job classification and 2021 National Occupational Classification system. The presentations will also highlight the new Pathways to Permanent Residency for CUAET visa-holders. Additionally, the session will highlight the role of BCSIS service providers in the context of immigration support.
Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the speakers.
