AMSSA and its member agencies and stakeholders organize public community events, workshops for newcomers to Canada as well as professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences for (re)settlement, language training diversity and inclusion sector employees. Parenting in the Canadian Context
Free settlement program for newcomer parents / immigrants with permanent resident or government assisted refugee status
When: Tuesdays, October 6 – November 10, 2015 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Where: Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, 800 East Broadway, Vancouver
Workshop topics include:
- Cultural differences in parenting practices;
- Parenting rights and responsibilities;
- Child development, health and safety;
- Positive discipline and guidance for children; and
- Choosing child care and community resources.
