Mental Health First Aid

Burnaby Mental Health First Aid February 19-20

What is Mental Health First Aid? This workshop teaches participants how to help someone who is showing signs of a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. The 2-day, 12-hour certified basic training course is a program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada and covers the following topics:
• Signs and symptoms of mental health problems and crisis situations
• A basic model to provide mental health first aid
• Information about how to help in a crisis and how to help prevent a crisis
• Encouraging a person to identify options for help

Training will be held on February 19-20 from 9 am-4 pm at the Fortius Sport and Health 3713 Kensington Ave in Burnaby. Please note that spaces are limited. Cost is $250 and includes lunch, a manual and a certificate issued from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
