The Western Region Working Group presents the webinar: Learn about Western Canada’s pre-arrival immigrant services.
The presentation will include:
1. Introducing pre-arrival immigrant services in the Canadian context
2. Identification of the agencies providing pre-arrival services in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan
3. Introducing the various forms of pre-arrival services provided in the Western Provinces
4. Pre-arrival services delivery practices in the Western Provinces

Biography of the presenter:
The webinar will be presented by Dr. Mahmudur Rahman Bhuiyan. Dr. Bhuiyan is an affiliated researcher at Immigration Research West at the University of Manitoba. He received a PhD in Sociology from the University of Manitoba in 2016 with research focuses on social policy, immigration, and the welfare state. Dr. Bhuiyan has been involved in immigration research and consultancy services for the last eight years. He worked as a Research Consultant and Program Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant with N.E.E.D.S. Inc. (a Winnipeg based Settlement Service Agency) from 2008 to 2013. Dr. Bhuiyan has also worked with Dr. Lori Wilkinson at the University of Manitoba as Research Assistant under the Newcomer Children and Youth Study (NCCYS) and Negotiating Differences in Democracy (NDD) projects during his graduate programs.
