AMSSA and its member agencies and stakeholders organize public community events, workshops for newcomers to Canada as well as professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences for (re)settlement, language training diversity and inclusion sector employees. Information Session: Violence Prevention and Intervention Training Program
BWSS Violence Prevention and Intervention training program is offered to self-identified women who want to obtain the necessary skills to volunteer for our direct services:
- Intake and Crisis line
- Women’s support groups
- Court accompaniment
- Community events
- Special projects and ongoing training
- And more
Through this inclusive intensive training participants will acquire the knowledge and skills related to:
- Theoretical Framework of Violence against Women
- Crisis Intervention
- Safety Assessment and Safety Planning
- Introduction to Criminal, Family and Immigration Law
- Feminist Anti-Oppression Analysis and Decolonizing Practices
- LGBTQ2S survivors of gendered violence
