In this course, Settlement Service Providers are invited to consider the topic, ‘Decolonize Yourself – Connecting to Your Indigeneity’.

By centering Indigeneity and drawing on foundational Indigenous teachings from Turtle Island, this course allows learners to consider their own Indigeneity and familial experiences with colonization, thereby participating in the process of decolonization. Using imagery and Indigenous tools, participants will learn how to explain big concepts, like colonization, in simple terms and how to make decolonization a daily practice. 

 A deeper understanding of these concepts will help Settlement Service Providers to welcome newcomers to this land in a good way. 

 Out of respect for the Indigenous oral tradition, numerous video clips are included throughout the e–learning course.
