As more individuals awaken to the reality of racism, public education becomes a crucial venue for dispensing evidence-based knowledge and for the public to develop racial literacy.
This e-learning module consists of a 4-part lecture series on racism and anti-racism. The lectures were delivered by Dr. Ismaël Traoré in collaboration with AMSSA for the AMSSA event, Racial Literacy: Virtual Lecture Series with Dr. Ismaël Traoré. These lectures were originally hosted live every alternate Mondays from September 21, 2020-November 2, 2020.
- Answers the questions: “what is racism?”, “how does it show up in anti-racism work?” and “what are its impact?” and is best suited for people who are:
- aware that racism exists and seek more information about its various manifestations, and
- interested in learning more about anti-racism work
This series is not a “how-to” series, which is the domain of consultants. Instead, the focus is on the “what”; that is, on explaining core concepts and domains of knowledge.
