They often lack the knowledge, language skills and ability to exercise their right to a safe and healthy workplace. WorkSafeBC is partnering with AMSSA to develop workshops and information for settlement agencies and their support workers to help migrant workers understand and exercise their rights and receive benefits they are entitled to as workers in BC as they relate to workplace health and safety.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop will provide migrant worker support staff with a foundational understanding of WorkSafeBC policies relating to migrant workers. This will include core information about the Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations and claims. With this foundational knowledge, participants will begin developing a deeper understanding of how best to help migrant workers access the workplace health and safety rights to which they are entitled.

ASSOCIATED LEARNING MODULES

Participants who complete the first workshop will be offered access to subsequent workshops and online learning modules.
