We envision a province in which we are all free from inequality, discrimination, and injustice. These free, introductory educational sessions seek to educate the public about B.C.\u2019s\u00a0Human Rights Code<\/em>, a human rights law relevant to everyone in the province. These sessions will be held throughout the year and they relate to three settings protected by the\u00a0Human Rights Code<\/em>: Housing, Employment, and Services.<\/p>\n

The upcoming session covers the area of Services. Every person has the right to be free from discrimination whether they are providing or receiving a service. Please join us during this interactive session and learn about your rights and responsibilities as they relate to housing. <\/span><\/p>\n

B.C.\u2019s\u00a0Human Rights Code: Educational sessions<\/span><\/strong>
\nThese free 90-minute introductory sessions will focus on B.C.\u2019s\u00a0Human Rights Code<\/em>\u00a0and explore your rights and responsibilities under the Code.<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning Objectives:<\/span><\/strong>
\nBy the end of this session learners will be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. situate B.C.\u2019s\u00a0Human Rights Code<\/em>\u00a0within other human rights laws<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. recognize terms used in the B.C. human rights system<\/li>\n
  3. identify discrimination under B.C.\u2019s\u00a0Human Rights Code<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. recognize what protected personal characteristics can be used to make human rights complaints<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
