In partnership with the Museum of Vancouver, The Shoe Project Vancouver <\/strong>presents Walk in Their Shoes,<\/em> an evening of performance with ten amazing women who tell their stories of arrival and adaptation to Canada\u2014through a pair of shoes.<\/p>\n

From Syria, Tibet, Eritrea, Colombia, Somalia, Indonesia, Iraq, Bangladesh, and El Salvador, these women have been coached in writing by award-winning author Caroline Adderson<\/strong> and in voice by performance coach Alison Matthews<\/strong> and performance and movement coach Tara <\/strong>Cheyenne Friedenberg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join the event Friday, June 22nd, 2018 at the Museum of Vancouver for The Shoe Project’s first run in Vancouver. These women’s stories of migration will walk you far beyond our daily experience.<\/p>\n

Admission: $14 Early Bird, $19 General Admission, Free to MOV Members & individuals who self-identify as Indigenous<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

ABOUT THE SHOE PROJECT<\/p>\n

The Shoe Project is a registered non-profit, founded in 2011 at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto by novelist Katherine Govier.<\/strong> Their mission is to improve the written and spoken English of women who are newcomers to Canada and who are potential leaders. The Shoe Project places their stories of arrival in our national conversation, and fosters a sense of sisterhood amongst women of different origins, so that they, in turn, will help others \u2018in their shoes.\u2019<\/p>\n
