SUMMARY:Human Resources Capacity Roundtable - Moving from Management to Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Many settlement service providers find themselves concentrating on the delivery of services while meeting multiple output and deliverable targets.  To ensure that service quality is maintained\, targets reached\, and timelines met\, it is understandable that supervisors dedicate much of their attention to managing staff and program logistics. While management skills are important to make sure the tasks are accomplished\, leadership skills are essential to strengthen and inspire staff on the journey to achieve these goals. By developing staff as both leaders and managers\, this will result in stronger teams and organizations delivering settlement services.  \nThis session will provide an understanding of the key similarities and differences between leadership and management and the distinctive actions and skills that define each\, demonstrating the importance of developing staff as both leaders and managers. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences and self-development\, as well as how their organizations can shift their people development strategy to develop staff as leaders.  \nThe session is targeted to staff in management positions\, HR staff\, and staff who are in a supervisory capacity.   \nEVENT DETAILS AND REGISTRATION \nDate: Friday\, February 28\, 2025 \nTime: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. PST \nLocation: Zoom - Event details will be emailed immediately after registration \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nPRESENTER \nZahra Emsail (she/her) \nVantage Point Staff Facilitator \nZahra is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Vantage Point.
