DESCRIPTION:As more individuals awaken to the reality of racism\, public education becomes a crucial venue for dispensing evidence-based knowledge and for the public to develop racial literacy. Join Dr. Traoré for part two of the lecture series on racism and anti-racism. Through talks\, reading assignments\, and question and answer sessions\, this series will provide participants with foundational knowledge on the topic. \nThe winter lectures will focus on a developmental approach to building an anti-racist multicultural organization\, different organizational anti-racism strategies\, and working on the self.\nThis series is best suited for people who are:\na) Aware that racism exists and seek more information about its various manifestations\, and\nb) Interested in learning more about anti-racism work.\nThis series is not a « how-to » series\, which is the domain of consultants. Instead\, the focus is on « what »; that is\, on explaining core concepts and domains of knowledge in the field of racism and anti-racism.
