DESCRIPTION:This course is for settlement professionals and other service providers who work with privately sponsored refugees and their sponsors. \nIn this course\, you will learn the basics of private refugee sponsorship. You will also learn how to work effectively with privately sponsored newcomers\, their sponsors\, and other settlement professionals. \nThe course has five modules: \n\nIntroduction to the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program\nThe Role of Sponsors\nRights\, Responsibilities\, and Expectations of Privately Sponsored Newcomers\nIRCC Program Assurance\nThe Role of Settlement Workers in Private Sponsorship\n\nEach module includes readings\, videos\, activities\, a quiz\, a discussion forum\, and extra resources to support your learning. \nThis is a self-study course. You can complete the course at your own pace during the 5-week course period. However\, you must finish all readings\, quizzes\, and the final exam before the course ends. \nA weekly online discussion forum is available if you would like to ask questions\, share ideas\, and learn with other participants and the course facilitator.
