SUMMARY:National Virtual Roundtables for Migrant Worker Support Organizations
DESCRIPTION:National Virtual Roundtables for Migrant Worker Support Organizations will provide professional development opportunities and enhance the capacity of individuals\, and the staff of organizations\, institutions and businesses that support migrant workers. \n﻿The roundtable events are an opportunity to share on regional priorities and service gaps in relation to supporting migrant workers\, while providing a space for those working with and supporting migrant workers to connect and share best practices. \nParticipants have the option of attending Day 1 (English only) or 2 (French interpretation provided).\nDay 3 will be a distinct Professional Development event open to all attendees on the topic of Racism and Hate. (French interpretation provided).\nOn Day 2 & 3 we will be providing simultaneous French interpretation throughout the day. \nDay 1- October 12\, 2021 or Day 2 – October 13\, 2021 \nOn Day 1 (October 12\, 2021) and Day 2 (October 13\, 2021) migrant worker support organizations will learn about current ESDC-funded projects related to supporting migrant workers. Presentations from the recipient organizations will provide updates on the programs and services provided to migrant workers in regions across Canada. \nFollowing the Day 1 (October 12\, 2021) and Day 2 (October 13\, 2021) presentations\, attendees will have the opportunity to share on regional priorities and service gaps in relation to supporting migrant workers\, while providing a space for those working with and supporting migrant workers to connect and share best practices. Discussions will take place in breakout sessions on Day 1 and a larger group discussion on Day 2. This will be an opportunity for shared learnings and networking with colleagues across the country. \nDay 3 – October 14\, 2021 \nOn Day 3 (October 14\, 2021)\, all attendees are welcome to attend this professional development training session with Dr. Moussa Magassa. The topic we are exploring is racism and hate towards migrant workers in communities across Canada. SUMMARY:Douglas College Career Paths – Health Information Session for Internationally Educated Nurses
DESCRIPTION:Poster \nThe pathway to licensure for IENs can be a challenging one to navigate. Regulatory body requirements\, language assessments\, and cost are just some of the obstacles that IENs must overcome while working toward their nursing registration in BC. At this virtual information session\, information about the nursing pathway and the program and services eligibility will be shared. This is a great opportunity for IENs to gain relevant information for their pathway and connect with Career Coaches for further support and guidance.
