DESCRIPTION:Burnaby Mental Health First Aid February 19-20 \nWhat is Mental Health First Aid? This workshop teaches participants how to help someone who is showing signs of a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. The 2-day\, 12-hour certified basic training course is a program of the Mental Health Commission of Canada and covers the following topics:\n• Signs and symptoms of mental health problems and crisis situations\n• A basic model to provide mental health first aid\n• Information about how to help in a crisis and how to help prevent a crisis\n• Encouraging a person to identify options for help \nTraining will be held on February 19-20 from 9 am-4 pm at the Fortius Sport and Health 3713 Kensington Ave in Burnaby. Please note that spaces are limited.
