DESCRIPTION:We invite Settlement-organization management and those in leadership roles to join us for this webinar introducing the new BCSIS E-learning workshop on Refugee Mental Health. The workshop has been developed in the form of an e-learning module for front-line Settlement staff who work with Refugees. The webinar provides an concise overview of the workshop content. All refugees are survivors of trauma to some extent\, and Refugee Mental Health is complex\, because the refugee experience is characterized by danger\, loss\, and uncertainty. The training module identifies different refugee categories in Canada\, stages of refuge and resettlement stress factors that contribute to mental health challenges for Refugees. It describes approaches and practical tools for assessing refugee trauma and addressing mental health needs.
