DESCRIPTION:AMSSA\, with the Immigrant Integration Coordinating Committee (IICC)\, undertook a Provincial Engagement Strategy project with the objective to: \n\nIdentify key gaps in services and/or policies between what is currently being supported by the federal government of Canada and the provincial government of BC\, with the actual needs of newcomers to BC.\nIdentify what strategies have been successful in providing support to newcomers in BC.\nUse the gaps and best practices identified to formulate specific recommendations on how the provincial government of BC can enhance co-managing and co-planning of immigration with the federal government\, the municipalities and the settlement sector.\n\nWe are hosting a media event to launch the report titled Immigration for BC’s Future: A Call for Action to Strengthen Newcomer Integration. \nWe hope you can join us! \nEvent Details: \nWhen: Thursday\, September 27\, 2018 \nTime: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM PDT (Note the time change from the originally announced 9:30 AM) \nIn-person attendance: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden\, 578 Carrall Street\, Vancouver\, BC \nOnline attendance: The event will be live broadcast online.
