DESCRIPTION:RETAIL CONNECTIONS \nImmigrant Youth Retail Employment Training Program \nStart date: Monday\, May 8th\, 2017 \nThe Retail Connections Program is an employment and skills training program that helps unemployed and underemployed immigrant youth and young adults to gain the skills and experience needed to find employment in the retail and customer service industry. We also have a limited number of seats available for non-immigrant clients. \nWhat does it include? \nJob Readiness Training: \n\n4-week daily full-time classroom-based training including:\n\nJob search and Retail specific workshops\nPersonality and Career Assessment\n\n\n8-week one-on-one coaching and follow up support\n\nSkills Development: \n\nEssential Skills Assessment and Training\nRetail specific training in Customer Service and Sales\, Inventory Management\,\n\nMerchandising and Displaying and Occupational Health and Safety. \n\nWorldHost Customer Service Training and Certificate\nEmergency First Aid Training and Certificate\nFood Safe Training Certificate\nCareer Coaching\n\nJob Retention Support: \n\nPost-employment follow-up support\nPersonal management skills training\nConnections to community services\nWorkplace orientation\n\nWe welcome jobseekers who are: \n\nUnemployed or underemployed working less than 20 hours/week\nNon-EI eligible\n18-30 years old\nPermanent Residence\, Canadian Citizen or Protected Person\nIntermediate conversational English skills\nAble to commit to a minimum of 4 weeks of full-time training (Mon-Fri\, 10am-3pm)\nNot participating in another Canada Job Fund Employment Services & Support program\nResidents of the Lower Mainland\n\nProgram end date: June 2nd\, 2017 \nLocation: YWCA WorkBC Employment Services Centre \n106-980 West 1st Street\, \nNorth Vancouver BC V7P 3N4 \nPlease contact NSMS directly for further questions or clarifications at retailconnections@nsms.ca or 778-927-2931.
