AMSSA is promoting the first Tuesday of the month as Respect for All Day. On this day, send us a story about how you demonstrated respect for someone from a different background (culture, ethnicity, religion, age, ability, sexual orientation, other). Share Respect for All to your friends and neighbourhood businesses and tell us about your commitment to creating a welcoming community for all.
*NEW - Testimonial
A young man came into the Visitors Stop Centre in Kamloops, absolutely exhausted and clearly lost. He had no resources, was hungry and was looking for help. Due to participation in the Safe Harbour workshop, a staff member had the correct numbers to call while the young man rested in a chair. One of the local ASK Wellness outreach workers came to the Centre and asked him to leave together to access the help he needed. He agreed. One month later, this same young came back to the Visitors Stop Centre and told the staff member that her help and support saved my life that day.
