AMSSA values research on immigrant settlement issues. Research ensures that Canadian policy and settlement programming meets the needs of newcomers.  AMSSA is active in:

  • Identifying research needs for the settlement sector
  • Developing research priorities with the settlement sector and researchers
  • Disseminating research studies, papers, and reports to settlement sector stakeholders

Research Advisory Committee
AMSSA’s Research Advisory Committee is comprised of settlement sector and research representatives in order to identify and develop settlement sector research priorities and partnerships as well as discuss BC centric research initiatives.

AMSSA Research Connections (ARC) Database (Research Database)
The AMSSA Research Connections (ARC) Database disseminates research papers, studies and reports to settlement service providers, policy makers and other settlement sector stakeholders in order to inform planning, decision-making, program design, as well as preparation for funding applications.
