AMSSA’s 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in a hybrid format, with the in-person portion taking place at UBC Robson Square and featuring a Panel Discussion on the topic of Human Rights: Pre-Pandemic and Now. This interactive armchair discussion centered on key human rights issues in B.C. pre-pandemic, and the impact of the last two and half years while living with COVID-19. Panelists Laura Track (Director of Education and Director of Human Rights Clinic, Community Legal Assistance Society), Angie Osachoff (Director of Canadian Programs, Equitas-International Centre for Human Rights Education), Sobhana Jaya-Madhavan (Associate Vice President, External Relations, Simon Fraser University), and Rachna Singh (Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives) identified and conversed about the numerous political, environmental, and social changes that have occurred over this time.
