Newcomer families often juggle integration while preserving their own cultures and languages. As a result, parenting styles or expectations may be different and newcomers may have difficulty adapting or blending their parenting style in Canada.
This 2017 e-Symposium targeted to settlement staff and LINC instructors looked at parenting from a newcomer perspective, shared settlement service supports, and discussed the role of educators and settlement staff in the adaptation process.
