A combination of fun and educational activities, the Diversity Health Fair is a free community event that takes place each February / March. The first Diversity Health Fair took place in 2005 and last year it became the largest event of its kind in Canada. This year’s theme is: *Promoting Healthy Living * The 2009 Diversity Health Fair will focus on increasing awareness among members of diverse ethno-cultural BC communities about the importance of the prevention and early detection of type 2 diabetes. There is plenty of evidence indicating that type 2 diabetes can be prevented, and that lifestyle changes can help to prevent or delay the onset of this health condition. When visiting the Diversity Health Fair, you and your family will have access to a great deal of information in different languages about what is and how to adopt a healthy or balanced diet, how to control your weight, and strategies to enjoy daily physical activities. All of these are considered to be the best diabetes prevention steps.ACTIVITIES INCLUDE :
