Promoting Healthy Living
 

A combination of fun and educational activities, the Multicultural Health Fair is a free community event that takes place each February / March. The first Multicultural Health Fair took place in 2005 and last year it became the largest multicultural health fair in Canada. This year’s theme is: *Promoting Multicultural Health*

Multicultural Health Fair 2006The Fair will include:

  • A grand opening ceremony;
  • Guest speakers;
  • Health information, education workshops in multiple languages;
  • Healthy multicultural cooking demonstrations;
  • Live entertainment;
  • Medical screenings and fitness demonstrations;
  • A children’s activities corner;
  • Raffles and prizes.

 

 

 

Over 50 health services, resources and organizations staffing their own tables are at the Fair. See our 2006 Exhibitors for a list of last year’s exhibitors.

 

Goals of the Fair
  • To promote healthy living and initiatives to BC’s multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic communities.
  • To support and empower people to make changes in the way they eat and live
  • To provide health organizations with an opportunity to demonstrate to immigrant-serving agencies and the culturally diverse public the programs they have in place which promote access to their health services
  • Enable Health Organizations and Community Service Agencies to meet one another and establish linkages to inform & promote current and future health care initiatives and needs.
