AMSSA

The Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC (AMSSA) is a provincial not-for-profit, non-partisan umbrella organization representing and serving over 75 immigrant settlement and multicultural service agencies located throughout British Columbia. AMSSA members are mandated to address a broad spectrum of multicultural and immigrant settlement and integration issues in their communities. AMSSA acts as a central resource for our member community agencies working in large urban centres and smaller communities, and our services and engagement extend to all levels of government, public institutions, the private sector, community groups and the general public. AMSSA's educational initiatives provide professional, accurate and detailed information about current issues in multiculturalism and immigration. AMSSA creates networking opportunities, disseminates information, supports professional development, and builds organizational capacities in communities to support effective frontline service delivery. Metropolis British Columbia

Metropolis British Columbia is part of Metropolis International, a network for comparative research and public policy development on migration, diversity and immigrant integration in cities in Canada and around the world. Metropolis BC aims to generate research and communicate knowledge that will aid discussion on emerging immigration policy in relation to five major themes: Citizenship and Social, Cultural and Civic Integration; Economic and Labour Market Integration; Housing and Neighbourhoods; Justice, Policing and Security; and Settlement, Integration and Welcoming Communities. Metropolis BC works collaboratively both with government ministries and non-government organizations to generate working papers from research projects, and hosts symposia that bring together academics and other stakeholders for group discussion.
