Welcome to the Advantage Diversity site, an initiative of AMSSA—the Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC . These webpages are intended as an organizing tool for agencies and individuals working on anti-racism activities throughout the province. They provide resources, ideas and communications tools in support of anti-racism activities throughout the year, and in particular, in support of the International Day for the Elimination of Racism, March 21.

March 21st is significant to many, however numerous others are unaware of its importance. This site and the resources on it were developed with the idea that if we speak with common messages and languages, they will be heard.

We are also committed to the idea that activities and messages that promote the values of diversity and anti-racism leading up to and following the event and not simply on March 21, are vital in ensuring community involvement and support over the long-term.

You can participate in a number of ways. For example, use our organizer’s kit to get ideas for events and case studies that have been successful in communities around the province. Use the media guide to source for media materials and fact sheets you can tailor and use for outreach to your local media. Download a photo from our image library or a copy of the postcard. Add a banner to your website or send a public service announcement to your local radio station. Or simply send us your best practices and case studies and we’ll post them on the site.

Our goal: to encourage agencies working to address racism in BC and mark March 21st to speak with one loud voice. We welcome feedback and participation by all!
